Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we collect it, and how to request changes or deletion.

Saint City Barber Co. is a small, independently owned barbershop in St. George, UT. The data we collect about you exists for one reason: to put you in a chair on time, with the right barber, and to follow up afterward. We don’t sell your information, we don’t share it with advertisers, and we keep our list of third-party processors short on purpose.

This policy explains, in plain language and then in detail, exactly what we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and how you can ask us to change or delete it. If anything below is unclear, send an email to hello@saintcitybarber.com and a real human at the shop will reply.

1. Who we are

2. Information we collect

  • Appointment data: services booked, dates, barber preference, notes you provide, cut/beard preferences, and visit history.
  • Contact information: name, email address, phone number, and (optionally) date of birth for birthday offers.
  • Payment information: processed by our third-party payment processor. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
  • Communication preferences: whether you opted into SMS reminders, email reminders, and marketing.
  • Website usage: pages visited, device type, approximate location, and referring source via privacy-respecting analytics.

3. How we use your information

  • To book, confirm, remind, and follow up on your appointments.
  • To process payments, deposits, gift cards, and memberships.
  • To send transactional messages (SMS or email) about your appointment, including reminders and reschedule notices.
  • To send optional marketing if you have opted in. You can opt out at any time.
  • To improve the website and shop operations through aggregated analytics.
  • To comply with applicable law.

4. SMS and email reminders

By providing your phone number and opting in, you consent to receive automated appointment confirmations, reminders, and follow-ups by SMS. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out of SMS, or contact us to opt out of email reminders. Required transactional messages (e.g., appointment changes) may continue while you have an upcoming appointment.

5. Payment processing

Card payments are handled by a PCI-DSS compliant third-party processor. We receive only a token, the last four digits, and the authorization status — never your full card number. The processor’s privacy practices apply to the data they collect.

6. Analytics and cookies

We use first-party and limited third-party analytics to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. Details about cookies, opt-out instructions, and any advertising cookies (if enabled) are described in our Cookie Policy.

7. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

  • Service providers who help us operate the business (booking platform, SMS provider, email provider, payment processor, analytics).
  • Authorities when required by law or to protect our rights.

8. Data retention

We retain customer records for as long as you have an active relationship with us, plus a reasonable period to satisfy tax, accounting, and legal obligations. You can request earlier deletion as described below.

9. Your choices and rights

You can request to:

  • Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Delete your customer record (subject to legal record-keeping obligations).
  • Opt out of marketing emails or SMS.

10. Children’s privacy

Children under 13 may book children’s services only when accompanied or scheduled by a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

11. Security

We use industry-standard technical and administrative safeguards to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. The “Effective date” at the top will reflect the latest version. Material changes will be communicated through the site or by email when reasonably possible. Minor edits — clarifying language, fixing a typo, updating a contact detail — will be made without notice.

13. State-specific notes

Utah has its own consumer privacy laws that may give you additional rights. If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, or another U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy statute, you may have additional rights including the right to opt out of certain types of data processing. We honor verifiable requests under those laws to the extent they apply to our shop. If you believe a right under your state’s law has not been honored, please email us first so we can resolve it.

How to reach a real person

We try to make privacy at the shop feel like privacy at the chair: nothing leaves the building unless it has to, and you always know who you’re talking to. For most requests we’ll respond within five business days.

We don’t use dark patterns, we don’t bury opt-outs, and we don’t sell your name to a marketing list. If a feature on the site asks for a permission you don’t feel comfortable granting, you can almost always book by phone instead.
