Good questions

Frequently asked

Everything guests ask before their first appointment at Saint City.

These are the questions we hear most often before a first appointment. If your question isn't covered below, give the shop a call or send a note — we answer fast, and we'd rather walk you through it than leave you guessing.

Quick context before the questions: every appointment at Saint City includes a real consultation, the full chair time listed on the service menu, a hot towel finish, and product matched to your hair. We don't double-book chairs, we don't add hidden fees at checkout, and we don't charge cancellation fees if you give us reasonable notice.

Before your visit

First-time guests

If this is your first appointment, two things are worth knowing. First, plan to arrive about five minutes early. The consultation is built into your chair time, but starting on time means we can use every minute on the work itself rather than catching up. Second, bring a photo or two if you have a specific look in mind — even a vague reference is more useful than a verbal description, and it gives us a starting point to dial in.

If you've had a cut you didn't love elsewhere, tell us. We're not offended, and the more honest you are about what hasn't worked, the easier it is for us to build something that does. The same goes for cowlicks, scalp sensitivity, recent color, or anything else that affects the way your hair behaves at the chair.

Cancellations & changes

Booking, rescheduling, and the policy in plain English

You can reschedule or cancel up to twenty-four hours before your appointment with no charge. Same-day cancellations and no-shows may forfeit the deposit on file — that's the only penalty, and it exists so the chair you released can be opened up to someone else who wanted it. Full details are on the cancellation policy page.

If something genuinely came up and you need to change your appointment last-minute, call the shop. We'd rather work with you than charge a fee. The deposit policy is there to protect the schedule, not to nickel-and-dime regulars.

Pricing & payments

What things cost and how we charge

Every price on the services menu is the full chair price — consultation, cut or shave, hot towel finish, and styling included. Add-ons (beard trims, scalp treatments, eyebrow detail) are priced on each service page with the added time clearly labeled. We accept cards, contactless payment, and tips through the same checkout. Cash is fine, too.

Tipping is appreciated but never expected. If you'd like to leave one, the checkout flow makes it easy. If you'd rather not, your barber will not blink.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an appointment?
Appointments are recommended, especially for evenings and Saturdays. We hold one walk-in chair open most days for guests dropping by. If you have a specific barber in mind or a tight schedule, book ahead — the calendar shows real availability and confirms instantly.
How early should I book a wedding party?
Two to four weeks ahead. We block adjacent chairs for the groom and groomsmen, stagger arrivals so everyone's polished by photo time, and can adjust the schedule around your photographer's call sheet. For destination weddings (Snow Canyon, Tuacahn, Zion), reach out earlier so we can plan around your travel.
Do you take kids?
Yes — twelve and under at a kids' rate. Diego is especially great with first-time cuts and will pace the chair to the kid, not the clock. If you've got more than one child, please book each appointment separately so we have the right chair time for each.
What's your cancellation policy?
Cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before your appointment with no charge. Same-day cancellations and no-shows may forfeit the deposit. The deposit policy exists to protect the schedule, not to nickel-and-dime regulars — if something genuinely came up, call us. Full details on the cancellation policy page.
Do you offer student or senior discounts?
Yes. Bring a valid Utah Tech, DSU, Snow Canyon, or other current student ID for the student rate. For guests 65 and over, ask about senior pricing at booking. Both apply to most haircut services and stack with the standard appointment, no membership required.
Where do I park?
Free street parking on Sunset Blvd out front, plus a public lot one block north with no time limit. Easy in and out, even on busy Saturdays. The shop entrance is street-level with no stairs.
Do you sell gift cards?
Yes — digital gift cards delivered by email, redeemable for any service, retail product, or membership. They never expire and there's no fee to buy or redeem. Visit the gift cards page to send one, or stop by the shop for a physical card.
Are you accepting new clients?
Always. Most barbers have same-week openings. First-time guests get a built-in fifteen-minute consultation so we can dial in the cut to your hair, your face shape, and how you actually live in the desert.
What products do you use and sell?
We use professional-grade product matched to each guest's hair type and the dry St. George climate. The retail wall is curated to the same standard — pomades, creams, beard oils, and shampoos that actually perform here. Your barber will recommend specifics based on your cut.
Can I tip with my card?
Yes — checkout supports card tips, contactless tips, and cash. Tipping is appreciated but never expected. Your barber will not blink either way.
